Planning: How To Comment

Comment or search on a planning application: http://www.chichester.gov.uk/viewplanningapplications

Note the application reference no. and if your statement is a General Comment, a letter of Support or an Objection (N.B. If you object, make sure to explicitly state that or your comment/letter may not be considered an objection.: “I object to planning application Ref. No. xyz…”) . Note if you’re a Consultee (i.e. you received a letter from CDC planning department advising you of the planning application).

  • BY EMAIL: Send your statement direct to the CDC via email: E: dcplanning@chichester.gov.uk ♦ Subject: Planning Application Ref. No. xx/xxxxx/xx       Note the planning application reference no. in the subject field AND the message body. Note: (1) if your statement is a General Comment, a letter of Support or an Objection; (2) Note if you’re a Consultee (i.e. you received a letter from CDC advising you of the planning application).
  • BY LETTER: Note the planning application reference no. in the subject field AND the message body. Note: (1) if your statement is a General Comment, a letter of Support or an Objection; (2) if you’re a Consultee (i.e. you received a letter from CDC advising you of the planning application); (3) Address it to the planning officer assigned to the application. Mail (via Royal Mail special delivery) to: Chichester District Council, Planning Department, East Pallant House, 1 East Pallant, Chichester, West Sussex PO19 1TY
  • ONLINE: Make your comments online at CDC Public Access System: http://www.chichester.gov.uk/viewplanningapplications      If you don’t have a login account with CDC then “Register”. If you’re already registered with CDC, “Login” (enter your email address and password). Use the ‘Simple Search’ using the application case reference Ref. No. xx/xxxxx/xx or search using the property address. If you want to comment, read the “Advice on how to make a comment” notes beforehand. Your comment may not appear immediately on the Public Access, it can take up to five working days to process.
